Indian-American tech entrepreneur and White House AI adviser Sriram Krishnan has announced that he will leave his role in the Trump administration at the end of June, saying he plans to focus on addressing some of the biggest challenges facing the United States in artificial intelligence.
In a post on X, Krishnan described his time in government as “the privilege of a lifetime” and thanked President Donald Trump for his leadership on AI policy.
“Without his leadership, we would not be leading in the AI race,” Krishnan wrote, adding that serving the American people had been a tremendous honor.
Credits Trump, David Sacks for AI Push
Krishnan also thanked White House AI and crypto czar David Sacks, saying his advocacy for American leadership in artificial intelligence had been “crucial” over the past 18 months.
The former tech executive highlighted several accomplishments during his tenure, including helping design and implement the administration’s AI strategy.
Key AI Achievements Listed
According to Krishnan, his major contributions included:
- Architecting and publishing the American AI Action Plan
- Supporting AI acceleration partnerships aimed at expanding the global reach of U.S. AI companies and technologies
- Developing the National AI Policy Framework for Artificial Intelligence executive order
- Promoting American AI initiatives with allies through international summits and diplomatic engagements in countries including France and India, as well as visits to the United Kingdom and the Middle East
Focus Shifts to AI Infrastructure and Energy
Looking ahead, Krishnan said he intends to help tackle major issues facing the AI sector, including energy demands, data-center expansion, and ensuring Americans benefit from advances in artificial intelligence.
“The past 18 months have given me a front-row seat to this critical moment on AI facing America and our allies,” he wrote. “I plan on building institutions that help tackle some of those challenges for America and its allies.”
Thanks Administration Officials and Family
Krishnan thanked several senior administration officials, including Vice President JD Vance, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and entrepreneur Elon Musk.
He reserved special thanks for his wife, Aarthi Ramamurthy, saying her support made the journey possible.
Krishnan did not reveal details about his next venture but indicated he would share more information after taking a break from public service.
