Shubman Gill 1 Win Away From Overtaking Sachin Tendulkar In Elite Captaincy List

Shubman Gill will make his return to Test cricket in the one-off Test against Afghanistan, starting June 6. The fixture will be played in Mullanpur, New Chandigarh. Gill missed India’s previous Test due to a neck injury. He suffered the injury during India’s first innings against South Africa at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. He only faced three balls before walking off. He didn’t come out to bat in India’s chase and missed the second Test match in Guwahati. Rishabh Pant led the team in his absence. Gill returned to international cricket in the T20I series against SA.
