The result marks a rare setback for President Donald Trump, whose endorsement had helped candidates cruise through Republican primaries across the country this year. With 98 per cent of the vote counted, Lahn held 37.8 per cent support compared to Feenstra’s 37 per cent, enough to secure the nomination and avoid a potentially messy state convention battle.
