In a major expansion of the West Bengal government, 35 ministers were sworn into the Council of Ministers on Monday, taking the total strength of Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari’s cabinet to 40. The swearing-in ceremony was held at Lok Bhavan in the presence of the Governor, senior BJP leaders and top government officials. With the induction of the new ministers, the Adhikari-led government has completed the formation of its full cabinet following the BJP’s historic victory in the 2026 Assembly elections.
