Even as negotiations between Washington and Tehran continue, Iran has chosen to showcase a weapon designed for a very different scenario. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) on Thursday unveiled a new missile-armed fast attack boat, named “27 Rajab”, during a public display in Tehran’s Revolution Square. The vessel, built around Iran’s long-standing naval doctrine of using swarms of small, heavily armed boats against larger warships, arrives at a time when the Strait of Hormuz remains at the centre of the Iran conflict.
