Dhanender Kumar, an 80-year-old retired Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer living in Delhi‘s Hauz Khas area, died in a house fire, the police told PTI on Thursday, May 28. It was at 11:10 PM on Wednesday, May 27, that a PCR call regarding the fire was received by the police, soon after which the police teams, along with the fire department personnel, rushed to the ex-IAS officer’s residence. Two fire tenders had reached the spot to douse the flames. The retired IAS officer’s son also sustained injuries.
