The first installment of the franchise, Enola Holmes, was released in 2020 on Netflix. It was directed by Harry Bradbeer, and the screenplay was adapted by Jack Thorne from the first novel in The Enola Holmes Mysteries series by Nancy Springer. After the grand success of Enola Holmes, Netflix came up with Enola Holmes 2 in 2022. Unlike the prequel, the makers took real-life inspiration from the matchgirls’ strike to form the story of the film.
