After days of suspense, tension over the Strait of Hormuz and its open-close status, and Israel’s continued pounding on Lebanon, the US and Iran finally sat together in Switzerland to discuss the technical part of the recently concluded Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and find a permanent way out for peace. Though the exact details of the negotiations of the first day’s talks are yet to surface, going by reports, the stakeholders deliberated upon the issue of sanctions on Iran, its frozen assets abroad, nuclear program, Strait of Hormuz, ceasefire in Lebanon, among other issues.
