According to reports, the actor pulled out of the project just before shooting began, leading to fear of losses and delays in production. FWICE officials have called the matter serious, stating that such last-minute exits negatively affect the film industry and ongoing productions.

Ranveer Singh FWICE row

The federation has issued a non-cooperation directive against Ranveer Singh after complaints linked to his exit from Don 3 backed by Excel Entertainment. The film is being helmed by Farhan Akhtar and co-produced Ritesh Sidhwani under Excel Entertainment. According to reports, the production house had already invested heavily in pre-production work and planning before the actor’s reported decision to leave the film.

FWICE statement said, “Considering the conduct displayed towards the Federation and the stakeholders associated with the project, the office bearers of FWICE have resolved to issue a Non-Cooperation Directive (NCD) against Mr Ranveer Singh.” It further stated that FWICE is ready to meet the Dhurandhar actor to hear his views and to take the matter forward with a view to reaching an amicable and final resolution in the interest of both parties.

FWICE reacts strongly to last-minute exits from films

Speaking earlier about the controversy, Ashoke Pandit said the federation views such situations very seriously, especially when actors reportedly leave projects shortly before filming begins. He stressed that the sudden exit could cause major disruption for producers, technicians and others working behind the scenes. Pandit also said that the Federation of Western India Cine Employees will first discuss the matter internally before coming to a final decision. According to him, any action taken by the federation would be aimed at protecting the interests of the film industry and its workers.

Producers Guild turns mediator

The dispute surrounding Don 3 had reportedly also reached the Producers Guild of India, where efforts were made to resolve the issue through discussions. Reports suggest that Excel Entertainment had invested a significant amount in planning and pre-production before the news of Ranveer Singh’s exit from the film broke. However, talks regarding a possible settlement were reportedly unresolved.

Meanwhile, Farhan Akhtar had earlier opened up about dealing with uncertainties in filmmaking during an interview with The Hollywood Reporter India. Recalling recent experiences, he said the industry often teaches filmmakers to be prepared for the unexpected and that nothing is final until the cameras roll.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Ranveer Singh was last seen in Dhurandhar: The Revenge, directed by Aditya Dhar. The film also featured Arjun Rampal, R Madhavan, Sanjay Dutt and others.
