Arvind Kejriwal, on Saturday (May 24), urged the Chief Ministers across the country to offer free bus travel facilities to candidates appearing for the National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test-Undergraduate (NEET-UG) scheduled for June 21, 2026, as the aspirants and their parents are already dealing with financial and logistical challenges.

Through a video shared on the microblogging site X, Kejriwal said that the state governments must ensure seamless travel for NEET aspirants and provide any other sort of help required for students to reach their examination centres.

Voicing the concerns of the Re-NEET candidates, Kejriwal said that the aspirants and their guardians are being made to pay twice for travel and related facilities due to re-examination. Some students will have to cover long distances just to reach their examination centres, adding a financial toll on their pockets amid precariousness around the test.

He added that a free travel facility can assist students in reaching their examination centres without having them pay for something beyond their control. Kejriwal said that the state governments should leave no stone unturned in ensuring travel and other related assistance to the Re-NEET candidates.

As of now, three states have extended support to the Re-NEET candidates by offering free bus facility across the state on June 21 and adjoining dates. These include Punjab, Haryana and Bihar. Mentioning the trio, Kejriwal said that both Haryana and Bihar followed Punjab’s footsteps, lauding them for making travel easier for Re-NEET candidates.

He then requested all the states to join in and do the needful. According to Kejriwal, ensuring free transportation will help alleviate students’ stress to some extent.

The Punjab government is offering free bus travel facilities for Re-NEET candidates on June 20, 21, and 22, 2026. The Haryana government, on the other hand, is providing free travel on June 20 and 21, 2026.

Bihar government has also announced free bus travel for NEET aspirants. Along with this, CM Samrat Choudhary requested the district administration, all monasteries and temples of the state, and non-governmental organisations to extend cooperation in arranging drinking water, sattu, etc.
