Israeli broadcaster N12 reported that Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, Iran’s parliament speaker and lead negotiator in talks with Washington, had resigned from his role due to interference from the country’s Revolutionary Guard. The suggestion that the Revolutionary Guard was muscling its way into the negotiations was enough to rattle oil markets, with traders fearing it could signal a harder line from Tehran going forward.
