BLACKPINK star Jennie Kim was the only K-pop star to walk the red carpet at the 2026 TIME100 Gala that took place on the evening of April 23 at the Frederick P Rose Hall at Lincoln Centre for the Performing Arts in New York City. Her Schiaparelli Fall 2026 gown, styled by Sam Woolf, was a showstopper with its black bustier and brown corset toile. However, it was her gold drop earrings from the Indian brand Swadesh that stole the spotlight. The brand is owned by billionaire Nita Ambani.

The label took to Instagram on April 24 to share a carousel with a picture of Jennie wearing the statement jewellery, a blueprint of the earring, and a short video clip of its making. They captioned the pictures, “Adorned in Swadesh jewellery at the TIME100 Gala, South Korean pop star @jennierubyjane brought a refined expression of Indian craftsmanship to the global stage.”

Released on April 15, the annual TIME100 list celebrates individuals who are shaping culture and conversations across the world. Jennie features in the artists category, alongside names from music and entertainment who have made their mark globally.

More About Time 100 List

This year’s list also includes musicians like Luke Combs, Coco Jones, Hilary Duff, Rauw Alejandro, and Noah Kahan. From India, Ranbir Kapoor is the only actor featured, joined by chef Vikas Khanna, who has also been recognised for his global impact.

The list itself spans a wide range of figures—from political leaders like Donald Trump, Xi Jinping, and Mark Carney to cultural icons such as Ralph Lauren and Victoria Beckham. As TIME puts it, these are people who are “changing culture in unprecedented ways.”

The TIME100 Gala is a large annual event hosted by TIME magazine to honour its list of the world’s 100 most influential people. Jennie has been riding high in her success at present, with her first solo album, RUBY, released in 2025, being selected as one of Rolling Stone’s Top 100 Albums of Last Year.

Ruby sold one million copies worldwide and emerged as the highest-ranking album by a Korean solo artist on the UK Albums Chart. It even made it to the Billboard Global 200 with Mantra and Like Jennie. In fact, Mantra even broke the record for the highest-charting song by a Korean female soloist on the UK Singles Chart, while Like Jennie became Jennie’s third number-one single in South Korea.
