Amid the ongoing Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) protests across Delhi, which have intensified in the past four days, 17 metro stations will remain closed on Friday (July 24) starting 7:30 AM. It will be the third consecutive day for metro stations to be closed.
The below-mentioned metro stations will be closed from 07:30 AM tomorrow (24th July, 2026) till further instructions.

However, interchange facility shall remain available at Rajiv Chowk, Mandi House and Central Secretariat.
Today also, 16 metro stations were closed as the protests continued at Jantar Mantar and neighbouring regions. Thousands of students continue to gather at Jantar Mantar, where CJP leaders and volunteers are leading protests demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over the alleged NEET paper leak. Protesters have also linked the issue to the reported suicides of 21 students.
CJI Surya Kant on Metro Closure
Chief Justice of India (CJI) Surya Kant on Thursday took note of concerns raised by the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) over the closure of several Delhi Metro stations, including the Supreme Court Metro station, due to ongoing student protests.
SCBA President Vikas Singh told the CJI-led bench that the station closures were making it difficult for lawyers, litigants and court staff to reach the Supreme Court. He requested that at least limited access be allowed for those with valid Supreme Court entry passes.
Responding to the plea, the CJI said he would step in if the issue was not resolved by lunchtime.
“I informed them in the morning. It is up to them to talk to the authorities. He is also exploring this as one of the solutions. By lunchtime, if there is a solution, that is fine. Otherwise, if my intervention is required, I will do so,” the CJI said.
