Actor Koel Mallick has resigned from her Rajya Sabha membership, putting an end to days of speculation over her political future. Koel had largely stayed away from making public political statements throughout her career. Her decision to accept the Trinamool Congress’ nomination to the Rajya Sabha in April 2026, ahead of the West Bengal Assembly elections, had surprised both her fans and many within political circles.
