As for the so-called new evidence Maxwell pointed to, much of it tied to materials released under the Epstein Files Transparency Act, Engelmayer found it did little to help her case. “The purported ‘new’ evidence to which Maxwell points… is largely irrelevant to the charges against Maxwell and does not support her claims of error,” he wrote. He went further, noting that where the evidence was actually relevant, it worked against her rather than for her. “On the contrary, to the extent it is relevant, far from exculpating her, it incriminates her or reinforces the correctness of the legal rulings Maxwell challenges.”
