On Sunday, Assam-registered vehicles were reportedly stopped at the Umiam-Barapani area and turned back towards Guwahati. The development comes even as the Assam cab association has been allowing Meghalaya-registered cabs to enter Assam, highlighting a gap between the assurances given by the two state governments and the situation on the ground.
