Nagpur: A history-sheeter was allegedly hacked to death with an axe following a dispute linked to a love triangle in Nagpur’s Sundarban area of Narendra Nagar, police said. The deceased has been identified as Gaurav Ragde. Police have named Gaurav Prabhakar Raut and Deepak Wasnik as accused in the murder case.
According to police, Ragde had been in a relationship with a woman for around two years. The same woman was also known to accused Gaurav Raut, and their friendship later developed into a relationship.
Raut and the woman had reportedly started a cloud kitchen in the Narendra Nagar area. Police suspect that Raut was aware of the woman’s relationship with Ragde, which led to tension and repeated disputes between the two men.
The personal dispute allegedly escalated on Thursday, with Ragde being attacked with an axe in the Sundarban area. He suffered serious injuries and later died.
Ragde also had a criminal record, with several cases registered against him, including murder, attempt to murder and robbery. Police said around nine criminal cases had been registered against him at Ajni Police Station.
Police have launched an investigation into the alleged love triangle, personal rivalry and the circumstances surrounding the murder. The criminal backgrounds of the accused are also being examined. Further details are awaited as the investigation continues.
