Raksha Bandhan will be celebrated on Friday, 28 August 2026. According to the Hindu calendar, the day falls on the full moon, or Purnima, of the month of Shravan. The day celebrates the bond between brothers and sisters. On this day, sisters tie a rakhi around their brothers’ wrists and pray for their happiness, prosperity and long life, while brothers pledge to protect their sisters and stand by them through every circumstance.
