According to local reports, Farooq, a resident of Mang area of Rawalakot, was critically injured on July 28 when Pakistani security forces allegedly opened fire on protesters near the bus terminal in Rawalakot amid ongoing demonstrations against the authorities. He succumbed to his injuries on Friday while receiving medical treatment in Islamabad.
