Veer Shah has been named the Best Captain in the Kids Category at the Pickleball World Cup after playing a pivotal role in India Under-14 team’s silver medal-winning performance.
Veer led India’s Under-14 side to the final, where they finished runners-up to the USA. India defeated Japan 3-0 in the semifinals before settling for silver in the title clash.
The young Indian also added an individual bronze to his medal tally, winning the third-place playoff in the Boys’ Singles Under-14 category against Vietnam’s Nguyen Gia Hung 21-11.
“Congratulations to Veer Arpit Shah from India on receiving the Best Captain award!
His leadership, enthusiasm, and dedication made a difference both on and off the court. Always supporting his teammates, encouraging teamwork, and leading by example, Veer showed that great leadership has no age!
A well-deserved recognition for an outstanding young captain!” – The Pickleball World Cup wrote in an Instagram post.
Veer had also enjoyed a successful campaign at the Pickleball World Cup 2025 in Florida, USA, where he won a medal hat-trick. He claimed silver in the U14 Boys Singles category and bronze in the U14 Mixed Doubles category with Anushka Chhabria.
He also helped India’s Under-14 side secure a bronze medal at the 2025 edition, underlining his consistency on the international stage.
His latest recognition as the Best Captain in the Kids Category adds another accolade to an impressive run for the young pickleball player, who has continued to make his mark in both team and individual competitions.
