It is worth noting that the game saw the 400-run mark being breached for the first time in the format’s history when Australia reached the milestone in the first innings. Since then, there have been 29 instances of a team crossing the milestone in the first innings, but it was never successfully chased down. In fact, Sri Lanka (411 in 2009 vs Rajkot) were the only team to cross 400 while batting second, but they lost that match by three runs.
