Ukrainian music video director Tanu Muiño found herself at the centre of online backlash after sharing a BTS group photo following the septet’s big night at the 2026 MTV VMAs. The director, who helmed BTS’ NORMAL and SWIM music videos, posted a celebratory carousel featuring the members. One picture showed Muiño kneeling in front of the seven BTS members, staring at Jungkook while the band member also stared back at her, prompting criticism from some corners of the fandom. As the backlash intensified, she eventually deleted the photograph. However, the picture did not stay gone for long. BTS V later reposted the same image on his Instagram Story and tagged Muiño, drawing praise from fans for the support.
