The SSC 2016 recruitment process was stuck in legal issues. On April 3, 2025, the Supreme Court discarded the whole 2016 recruitment panel, describing it as “tainted and vitiated”. This led to the loss of jobs for about 26,000 teaching and non-teaching staff.
