The military component had previously stood at 1,535,000, meaning the latest order adds 15,500 positions. It is the fourth increase in the authorised strength of Russia’s armed forces this year, following changes made in March, June and July. Across those four orders, the authorised establishment has risen by 52,500 positions, including 50,500 military personnel.
