Raipur: A 36-year-old man allegedly stabbed his wife and two minor sons to death before trying to kill himself in Raipur, Chhattisgarh, police said. The incident took place on Saturday night in Dumartarai area under Mana police station limits. The accused has been identified as Bhuneshwar Sahu, a native of Balod district.
According to police, Sahu was living with his family in a rented house in Sahu Para. He allegedly attacked his wife, Khileshwari Sahu, 32, and their two sons, Ashish, 11, and Jon, 8, with a knife kept inside the house.
After attacking his family, Sahu allegedly injured himself with the same knife.
Police reached the spot after receiving information about the incident and took Sahu into custody. The two boys died at the spot, while Khileshwari was declared dead after being taken to a hospital.
Sahu was admitted to Dr BR Ambedkar Memorial Hospital, also known as Mekahara, in Raipur for treatment. The bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination. Police said a preliminary investigation suggested that Sahu suspected his wife’s character, which may have led to the killings. Further investigation is underway.
