The Income Tax Department, on Monday September 28, carried out search operations at over 12 locations across Mumbai, covering premises linked to Bollywood production houses, an actress and other individuals as part of an ongoing financial investigation. The searches are examining the possibility of diversion of funds on the pretext of movie production abroad. The Income Tax Department is reportedly scrutinising financial records and transactions linked to overseas remittances allegedly made in connection with film projects.
