Boundaries, Therapy And No Contact: Why Adults Are Cutting Ties With Their Parents

A growing number of adults are choosing to limit, pause or completely end contact with their parents, a decision often described online as going ‘no contact.’ The trend has become prominent enough to draw attention from psychologists, researchers and, most recently, The Wall Street Journal, which examined how changing family expectations, therapy culture and social media are reshaping the parent-child relationship.
