Anahat Singh settled for a silver medal after losing to defending champion, Malaysian Sivasangari Subramaniam. This was expected to be a tough battle for Anahat against Sivasangari, who had defeated Anahat 11-4, 11-4 a couple of weeks ago at the London Squash Classic. Anahat, however, had stunned world No. 6 Satomi Watanabe in the semifinal and was optimistic about challenging the defending champion.
