As of this week, the total number of troops wounded in the Iran war stood at 861, based on DCAS figures reviewed by the Post. More than half of those casualties are now listed under a category called “Overseas Operations,” a label that has been used since a ceasefire between Washington and Tehran began in July, before later falling apart. Before that shift, wounded and killed troops had been recorded under “Operation Epic Fury,” the name the Trump administration gave to the conflict with Iran.
