Anahat Singh created history and etched her name in the record books as she became the first-ever Indian woman to qualify for the singles squash final at the Asian Games. Anahat, 18, stunned Japan’s Satomi Watanabe 3-2 in the semi-final. Watanabe is ranked sixth in the global rankings. Anahat is now assured of a silver medal and she is vying for the gold medal. Anahat was staring at a defeat as she was 0-2, going down 9-11, 11-13. Anahat, ranked 17th, saved two game points and won the third game 12-10. She dominated the fourth game and won it 11-6. Anahat thumped Watanabe 11-3 in the fifth game to register a famous win.
