Ram Yashvardhan reflects on professional journey
On Zindagi Uncut, Ram revealed why he wanted to become a pilot. The Shiv Shakti actor said, “Har bete ka hero jo hota hai vo uska baap hota hai. My dad is a retired commander from SpiceJet and Jet Airways; he was there with all of them. Papa ko dekhte the sundar uniform mein, maine kaha main bhi pilot banunga.”
The actor added that he didn’t study much in school and was dropped out in the 11th grade. “Matlab ye nahi ki samajh nahi aata tha, mujhe samajhna hi nahi tha. I don’t know. I didn’t want to study. I liked physics. Physics (mein) I scored amazing numbers. Rest everything, I used to get failed. Physics mujhe accha lagta tha.”
After he was dropped out of school, Ram went on to complete 12th standard online. What happened next? The TV actor shared, “Toh vo kara uske baad dad ne dala ki pehle commercial pilot ki theory kar le and then we go to flying as you crack it. So, we started. Kya padhna tha, idhar-idhar hi ghoomte rehte the. Vo hogaya. Papers aagaye, vo papers de diye. Ab jo results aur papers ke madhya ka jo samay tha that was 3 months.”
During this period, Ram decided to take an acting course. “Main kaha nahi yaar, I want to try acting. Then I opted for a course over here; that was for three months exactly. I called up dad one day and (I said) I want to be an actor. He said, ‘Are you sure?’ Maine kaha yes. He said, ‘Go ahead’.” And that’s how he eventually decided to pursue an acting career.

Apart from Shiv Shakti, Ram has been a part of several mythological shows on television. He has done shows like Jai Hanumaan, Sankat Mochan Naam Tiharo, Yashomati Maiyaa Ke Nandlala, and Kahat Hanuman Jai Shri Ram.
