Not the first time
Poland has dealt with a string of Russian aircraft and drone incursions since Russia launched its full-scale invasion of Ukraine. On Feb. 11, 2025, a Russian Su-24MR military aircraft flew about 6.5 kilometers (4 miles) into Polish airspace over the Gulf of Gdańsk and stayed roughly 72 seconds. Russia later admitted the flight and blamed a fault in the plane’s navigation system.
