Jimmy Fallon has taken a sarcastic dig at US President Donald Trump’s packed schedule during his visit to New York for the United Nations General Assembly, turning the events of his trip into a rap on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
In a video shared on the official Instagram page of the show, @fallontonight, Fallon humorously raps about Trump’s arrival in New York, his UN speech, meeting with New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani and his various stops around the city.
In the rap, Fallon sings, “First up flight. Next up land arrive in New York, ‘Let’s rename it Trumpistan, go to UN give a speech halfway through it fall sleep, leave the UN, great job Trump, time to go to Bubba Gump, meet Mamdani…’”
He goes on to reference Trump’s visit to Times Square, the M&M’s store and other New York landmarks, repeatedly joking about the president taking naps between engagements.
The Instagram video has since drawn widespread attention online, with users reacting to Fallon’s satirical take on Trump’s busy week in New York.
Donald Trump At UNGA
Trump was in New York this week for the 81st United Nations General Assembly, where he delivered his address on September 22. His schedule included several meetings with world leaders and other engagements alongside his UN appearance.
One of the stops referenced by Fallon was Trump’s meeting with New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani at Gracie Mansion on September 21. The two discussed issues including housing and the affordability of New York City. The meeting came a day before Trump’s UNGA address.
Fallon’s “Trumpistan” line is a fictional joke rather than an actual reference to a place. By joking that New York should be renamed “Trumpistan”, he exaggerates Trump’s prominent presence in the city during the UN visit. The rap then strings together real events and New York landmarks to create a comic version of the president’s itinerary.
