The 72nd National Film Awards ceremony is set to take place in Gujarat on September 22, marking a major change from the awards’ long association with New Delhi. The prestigious ceremony will be held at Ekta Nagar, Kevadia, near the Statue of Unity, with President Droupadi Murmu presenting the honours. The awards recognise outstanding work in Indian cinema for 2024, with 92 winners set to receive honours across different categories. Veteran actor Anant Nag will also be presented with the Dadasaheb Phalke Award for 2024 at the ceremony.
