Notably, US President Donald Trump has signed the Lindsey O Graham Sanctioning Russia and Iran Act of 2026 into law on September 18. The legislation expands sanctions on Russia and gives the US President the authority to impose tariffs of up to 100 percent on countries that continue significant purchases of Russian energy.
