India has opened their medal account in the ongoing edition of the Asian Games 2026 at the Aichi-Nagoya, with the women’s 10m air rifle team securing a silver medal. Elavenil Valarivan, Sonam Uttam Maskar and Vidarsa K Vinod combined for India in the team event. Elavenil and Sonam also advanced to the individual final, giving India two medal contenders in the event. The individual final is scheduled for 11:00 AM IST (2:30 PM Japan time). The result gives India an early boost in shooting, with the country’s rifle contingent expected to be among its key medal prospects at the Games.
