USS Abraham Lincoln Finally Reaches US Soil After 302 Days at Sea, 7 Months in Middle East

The Nimitz-class carrier, along with Carrier Air Wing 9 and the guided-missile destroyer USS Frank E. Petersen Jr., arrived at Apra Harbor on Saturday, September 19, for a brief logistics stop, according to the US Navy’s 7th Fleet. The stop marks the first return to American soil for Carrier Strike Group 3 personnel in nine months.
