12 Noon: Jaipur: Counting of votes is underway across 309 urban local bodies in Rajasthan, covering 10,245 wards, with the BJP leading the tally with 103 wins, followed by the Congress at 65, Independents at 37 and RLP at 2.. These polls are the first test for the Bhajan Lal-led Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government in the state after coming to power in 2024. The counting of votes for Jaipur Municipal Corporation’s 150 wards is taking place at Shri Bhawani Niketan College of Pharmacy on Sikar Road. A total of 15 counting rooms with 150 tables have been arranged for the process.

The counting is being conducted ward-wise from 1 to 150 in designated rooms according to the respective assembly areas and ward numbers. Arrangements have been made for wards falling under Vidhyadhar Nagar, Jhotwara, Sanganer, Bagru, Malviya Nagar, Civil Lines, Kishanpole, Adarsh Nagar, Hawa Mahal and Amer areas.

For the remaining urban local bodies in the district, including two municipal councils and 16 municipalities, 18 counting rooms with 120 tables have been set up at designated schools and other locations.

According to official figures available till 11.45 am, Independent candidates had won 1,040 wards, while the Rashtriya Loktantrik Party (RLP) bagged 42, Bharat Adivasi Party (BAP) eight, Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) and CPI(M) six each and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) five.

Results for 4,690 of the total 10,245 wards had been declared till then. The figures include candidates who were elected unopposed.

A total of 77 candidates were elected unopposed before polling.

At 12 noon: As per the latest trends, the BJP is ahead in eight municipal corporation, while the Congress is leading in one.

In nagar parishads, the BJP is ahead in 19 and the Congress is inching closer to win in 16.

Nagar Parishad –

There is neck and neck contest in nagar palika’s. The BJP is ahead in 99 seats, while the Congress is closing in with 96.

The BJP is leading in seven Municipal Corporation, while, the Congress is ahead in two.

At 10 AM: The BJP is leading in seven municipal corporations.

The administration has made arrangements for counting at various centres, including Mahatma Gandhi Government School in Kanota, Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Community Centre in Vatika, PM Shri Government Senior Secondary School in Jamwaramgarh and Manoharpur, Shri Kalyan Singh Government Senior Secondary School in Shahpura and other designated venues, reported ANI.

Jaipur District Election Officer Sandesh Nayak has instructed officials to ensure completion of all arrangements before the counting process and maintain coordination with concerned departments for security, deployment of personnel, EVM storage and other necessary facilities.

The polls were held in two phases on September 9 and September 11.
