Pakistani Actor Mahira Khan's TIFF Debut Was Draped In Kashmir's Kashidakari

Kashidakari, the traditional embroidery and needlework craft from Kashmir, made its stunning presence felt in Toronto. Pakistani actor Mahira Khan made her debut at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) and for the occasion wore a Kashidakari chiffon saree and shawl by Pakistani label Aafrinish by Niazi. According to the designer, on Instagram: “A rich wine chiffon, brought to life over 1,440 hours by two artisans, with delicate Kashidakari, Cutdana, silver Zari and lotus motifs woven quietly into the embroidery, symbols of fertility, renewal and new life.”
