Cristina Rapti-Tzelepi, 54, gave birth to a healthy baby girl in Athens this week after doctors transferred one of her embryos that had been cryopreserved for over two decades. The birth came just months after the couple lost their 21-year-old son, Giorgos, in a road accident. The couple decided to pursue another pregnancy as a way of rebuilding their family after the devastating loss. Their daughter, Georgia, was named in honour of their late son.
