Monthly figures show that the August peak has weakened considerably in recent years. Applications from main applicants stood at around 1,44,200 in August 2022 and 1,47,200 in August 2023. The figure fell to 1,22,100 in August 2024, 1,20,300 in August 2025 and around 99,500 in August 2026.
