Last year in November, almost six months after India’s Operation Sindoor against Pakistan, a Sikh jatha of nearly 2,000 Sikh pilgrims crossed over to Pakistan through the Attari-Wagah border for the celebrations of ‘Parkash Purb’ of Guru Nanak Dev. While the Pakistani authorities allowed the Sikh pilgrims to visit the shrine, the Hindu pilgrims were stopped and asked to return back.
