The dilapidated condition of government-run schools was brought to light again during an inspection by a CJP member in Dobda village of Madhya Pradesh. According to a video shared on X, classrooms meant for children were occupied by ‘cows and buffaloes’, while the basic facility of a washroom was nowhere to be found. The food served to schoolchildren was also described as ‘raw’.
Taking to X, CJP posted, “Cows and buffaloes in the classroom, no clue where the washroom is, Food completely raw! The state of schools in Dobda, Madhya Pradesh! #SchoolThikKaro,” along with the video.
The video shared by the Cockroach Janta Party’s official ‘X’ handle featured schoolchildren helping the party member navigate a filthy classroom occupied by cows and buffaloes. It also showed the area where they have to freshen up due to the lack of basic washroom facilities and a defunct fan covered in grass.
The children also complained of villagers abusing them during school hours and of raw food contaminated with insects.
The CJP member objected to the dirty utensils and asked the administration to help students deal with villagers hurling abuses.
The recent inspection formed part of a broader campaign by CJP, a satirical youth-led political movement and public pressure coalition founded by Abhijeet Dipke. Since August 15, party members have been conducting inspections in public schools across the country, pinpointing a lack of basic amenities and deteriorating infrastructure.
#SchoolThikKaro Campaign Prompts Action Across Four States: CJP
On September 5, CJP shared a mid-progress report of its #SchoolThikKaro campaign, claiming that its efforts to flag the poor condition of government schools have prompted action in several states.
Notable developments were reported in four major states, including Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra and Haryana. While Rajasthan announced a Rs 12,500 crore budget allocation, the Uttar Pradesh government earmarked Rs 604 crore for the revamp of government schools, and the Haryana government allocated Rs 400 crore for upgrading 450 schools.
One of CJP’s major achievements was the Maharashtra government’s “School Chalo Abhiyan”. The initiative, aimed at improving the condition of schools and the education system, will be conducted across the state from September 5 through Dussehra, i.e. October 20, 2026.
