The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) played down rumours that a brand-new Director of Cricket (DoC) role will be established in the Indian cricket team, with former Indian cricketer VVS Laxman, who is currently the head of the Centre of Excellence (CoE), taking over the role. The board’s secretary, Devajit Saikia, claimed that the board has no such intention.
