Hanuman Ansh has emerged as one of the biggest unexpected stories of 2026. Based on the life of Neem Karoli Baba, the film, made on a meagre budget of Rs 2 crore, triumphed amidst a backdrop which has seen mega-budget films and massive star casts thrive throughout the year. While a film like Yash-starrer Toxic, mounted on a far bigger scale and backed by a massive production and marketing machinery struggled to meet expectations, Hanuman Ansh managed to connect with audiences despite being made on a shoestring budget and arriving without any aggressive promotional campaign. For actor Chandan Anand, who is one of the leads in the Neem Karoli Baba film, the answer lies in something far more fundamental than scale – the film’s simplicity, emotion and spirituality.
