Teachers who are allotted this work usually function as either Booth Level Officers (BLOs) or other election-roll staff. Their duties include house-to-house verification of voters/electors, reviewing whether existing voters are still residing at the given address, identifying new eligible voters who need to be added, identifying dead, shifted or duplicate voters for appropriate action, distributing and collecting electoral-roll forms such as Form 6, verifying voter information and supporting documents, updating or entering the information collected during the revision exercise, and assisting with the preparation and verification of the SIR electoral roll, etc.
