Responding to the issue, the Education Minister of Himachal Pradesh, Rohit Thakur, stated that the state has the country’s best Pupil-Teacher Ratio (PTR) of 1:10, meaning one teacher is appointed for every 10 students. However, he also acknowledged the fact that, especially in the remote areas, there is a shortage of teaching staff.
