A Mumbai man’s ‘birthday dinner’ at a high-end popular restaurant ended in pure disgust after he ended up spotting a cockroach on a pastry tray displayed at the eatery. The incident unfolded at Barbeque Nation in Virar on August 19. The man- Yash Raut- had allegedly gone with four others and had paid “premium prices”, only to get “zero hygiene” in return. Raut also shared a video of the same, which went viral. The disturbing clip showed cockroaches crawling on the plate full of pastries.
Tagging FSSAI in the post, Raut further urged them to “inspect the outlet”. The video soon began to draw heavy criticism. This is not the first time that something like this happened; just a few days ago, a Gurugram restaurant fell into a similar controversy after a customer found a worm inside a salad they had ordered.

“When you drag Swiggy – include Google Maps too because it lists the name and location,” a user said. “You have to complain on the FSSAI portal. Tagging here doesn’t help,” added another person.
“People who are rattled by him mentioning Swiggy should know that they can’t mint money from its customers without even having basic minimum concern about their health and hygiene.
