Nepal’s National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority coordinates preparedness, rescue and risk-reduction efforts. But reducing disaster losses requires more than emergency response – it also means stronger infrastructure, better land-use planning, glacier and river monitoring, and effective early-warning systems.
