The school, however, opposed the plea, stating that it was a private unaided co-educational institution affiliated with the CBSE and had a uniform dress code applicable equally to all students. The school principal also submitted that other female students from the same religious community were following the prescribed dress code. Allowing an exception for one student, the school argued, could have an impact on discipline and the overall administration of the institution.
